Embryo Donation
Three options are provided for final disposition of embryos: anonymous or directed donation to another couple, donation for stem cell research, or destruction. Donation options depend on specimen quality and/or donor screening/testing results. RTL requires documentation of final disposition, including notarized signatures of our patients

Requirements for Embryo Donation
Embryo donors are required to complete a three-generation medical/genetic history, sign a consent to donate, complete a 30-60 minute phone consultation with RTL’s consulting psychologist, and complete additional blood testing. There is no charge for these services to qualify as embryo donors. If the embryo donors are approved for RTL’s Donor Embryo Program, they will be reimbursed for their time and inconvenience.

If donor eggs were used to create the embryos, the egg donor must be willing to complete RTL’s donation protocol in order to qualify the embryos for RTL’s donation program.

Embryo donation is also allowed if donor semen from an accredited semen bank was used to create the embryos.
